The weather station is located in the Upper Temescal district of Oakland, California. It is three blocks off of Piedmont Avenue, and located one block from the Rockridge Shopping Center.

The weather station has been operating in one form or another since 1986. The climate pages include the precipitation data from the entire period of record.
